It is variable in the long run, because its formation is always in progress. Moral identity is about our morality, and it is also variable. Moral identity gives us foundation of our moral judgements. We often have several different identities, which sometimes conflict each other. Likewise, we can say it is possible for us to have different moral identities. We form our moral identities in community to which we have a sense of belonging. Community gives us an image of“ good life”, and we usually regard it as our own goal of living, but sometimes we feel uncomfortable with values and norms shared in the community or oppose them.
