This paper reports on the practice of a new form of \"communication education\" that collaboratively combines the practical skills of applied theater with lectures for scientific understanding of human nature, focusing on the practice of a \"teacher's license renewal course\" conducted at Miyagi University of Education. In this new approach, participants learned about the mechanism of human communication through lectures based on brain science, developmental psychology, and social psychology, and group activities in the classroom. In addition, they practiced the Playback Theater method, in which they improvised and acted out each other's stories.
