| 内容記述 | 本稿は、学校教育におけるデモクラシーの位置付けと在り方を問い直すために、中学校社会公民的分野の教科書を政治学的視点から検証し、その意義と問題点を明らかにしたものである。その際、公民的分野の単元「対立と合意」「効率と公正」を取り上げ、第一に、それが生徒の身近な問題とデモクラシーとの接点を探る点に教育的意義があることを示した。第二に、その「効率」「公正」概念を検証することでその狭隘さを明らかにし、問題解決の指標とするには不十分であることを論証した。本稿では教科書を内在的に読み解くことで、「効率」概念に関しては合意形成における時間・労力の問題が、「公正」概念に関しては多元性と相克の問題がそれぞれ欠落していることを明示した。本稿は以上のような作業を通じて、公民教育と政治学との架橋を試み、本教科内容が「市民性教育」へ展開する可能性を提示した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper examines junior high school civics textbooks from a political science perspective to clarify how to teach democracy in schools. To accomplish this, I focus on the units of“ Conflict and Consensus” and“ Efficiency and Fairness” in civics textbooks to explore their educational significance and examine issues familiar to students from the perspective of democracy. Additionally, I discuss their limitations by describing how the definition of “efficiency” does not address the issue of time in consensus building, as well as how the definition of“ fairness” does not address the issue of its pluralism. By studying the examples in the civics textbooks from a political science perspective, I endeavor to bridge the gap between civic education and political science and show how this subject can unite“ citizenship education.” | |||||
