| 内容記述 | 本稿では、明治期より親しまれてきた「マッチ売りの少女」の表現と文体のうち、特に文末表現に着目し、文語から口語へ、そして「読むための物語」から「語りかける物語」に変容していくプロセスをたどってみた。その結果、昭和20年代後半、折しも「岩波少年文庫」の創刊と相前後するかのように「デス・マス体」専用の軽快かつ安定した訳文に統一され、今日まで親しまれてきたこと、書きことばとしての規範性や形式性が強く作用した結果として、話しことばの標準化より20年あまりも早く訳文の現代口語化を完了していることが明らかとなった。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on the expressions and style of “The little match girl” which has been popular since the Meiji era (1868-1912), especially on the end of sentences, and traces the process of changing from written language to spoken language, and from a“ story for reading” to a“ story to tell. As a result, it was found that the translated text in “desu-masu style” was completed around the time of the publication of the Iwanami Shonen Bunko in the late 1945s, and has been familiar to people until today. It was also found that the modern colloquialization of the translated text took place more than 20 years earlier than the standardization of the spoken language. | |||||
