| 内容記述 | 大名家臣たちがどこに住んでいたのかを明らかにすることは、近世社会を特徴づける要素の一つである兵農分離の問題を議論するうえで欠かせない基礎的な作業である。彼らの居住場所を突き詰めて考察するためには、①城下町と在郷のどちらに居住したのか、②城下町のどこに住んだのか、③在郷（＝村）のどこに住んだのか、について検討する必要があるが、仙台藩を対象とする従来の研究は、②についての研究が比較的進んでいるものの、①と③については、藩の政策すらきちんと整理されぬまま現在に至っている。そこで、本稿では、仙台藩士たちの居住場所を明らかにするべく在郷居住の問題に関連するであろう基本的な事項について整理し、仙台藩士たちが仙台城下を離れ在郷に居住し続けることになる流れを藩の政策とも絡めながら具体的に跡づけている。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Clarifying where vassals of feudal lords lived is an essential and fundamental task in the discussion on the issue of the separation of farmers and samurai, which is one of the elements characterizing early modern society. In order to thoroughly consider where they lived, it is necessary to look into (1) whether they lived in castle towns or local villages, (2) which district of the castle town they lived in, and (3) which area of the village they lived in. In previous studies on Sendai Han, research on (2) has been relatively advanced, but when it comes to (1) and (3), even clan policies have not been properly organized. Therefore, in order to clarify the places of residence of the feudal retainers of Sendai Han, this paper organizes the basic matters that would be related to the issue of their residence in the local village, and concretely traces the flow in which they left the Sendai castle town and continued to live in villages, relating to the Sendai clan's policies. | |||||
